St. Helens Christmas Lights

"Holiday Magic Set to Music"

Our annual magical holiday show features computer controlled lights set to music in St. Helens, Oregon. We started our nightly display in 2010 and each year we add new elements and many more lights. We design, program and install everything you see. The music accompanying the light show is broadcast on 87.9 FM. either on your car stereo or other listening device. We also have speakers set up to play music on Friday and Saturday for those who decide to walk by instead of driving.

Music Sequences

Every song you see and hear has been sequenced or coded by us. Incorporating these songs into a light show is very time consuming depending on the complexity of the music; number of instruments, sounds, beats, tempo changes, vocals and lyrics. Laying down each of the tracks takes approximately 6+ hours for each minute of song to produce a synchronized light show. We have added several new songs this year to the "Holiday Magic" light show. What you are viewing is the end result of many hours of work and countless hours of repeated listening over and over and over!

We start planning our Christmas display for the following year in January through March with actual feature building and sequencing starting in August. In November we start setting up in time for the December 1st opening. We prototype and test new features, research newest technologies, and work on any new songs. The show you see has countless hours of hard work, a true labor of love, to bring a little holiday spirit to friends, family and our wonderful community.
